Materialism And Hedonism; The Lethal Mix

Human appetite for getting rich has never been more pronounced than in this day and age. Some time back, we had the age of gold and the scramble for continents. There were fewer people then and resources were more abundant. There were times, I think or have a strong reason to believe that, gold could be picked on the ground as though it were a leaf. Today we have to go deep-underground to get that precious metal; at the expense of probably loosing our lives. And materialism is right in the details. It has taken root on the world like a giant killer weed. Did I hear a clap or true that!

The view that our existence is explainable solely in material terms, with no accounting for spiritual consciousness, raises more questions than answers and comes with its own consequences.

First of all, if all that exists is matter only, where did the natural laws that govern it come from? New scientific discoveries in the field or areas of biological complexity, cosmological-design, quantum-physics and information-theory have brought these materialistic assumptions into doubt. Pundits using evidence, argue that the universe and its material aspects are connected by a network of energy; a result of some conscious creation.

Looking at modern times, there is a massive increase in demand for computerized, high-tech and digitized goods. The world's citizens now desire a lot of things that had not even been invented just a few years ago. Naked or blunt materialism seems to inspire us more than any of the other, myriad, measures of success. We could blame it on global advertising, the TV or the erosion of our cerebral cortex. But the truth of the matter is that “keeping up with the Joneses” is now more burdensome than ever; probably to the delight of you know who, by now.

As for the consequences, man has become a victim of his own cupidity. First of all, anyone who believes that life consists only in terms of physical matter has no room for religion at all. This makes such people have no base for morals and that's the beginning of certain vices that are common with materialistic persons. These include: lust, envy, false comfort, idolatry, no sense of right or wrong, jealousy, thievery, self-interests and preoccupation with money. If one joins the dots, you find murder often falling in this category too. It seems somewhere along the way, man forgot that what is gotten on the devils back is soon spent under his belly. Currently, man prefers doing evil that good might come out of it. And I believe our creator is happy about it; if his scheme is really to work. Reverse-psychology, it seems, doesn't work out for man only!

Vices are still not ethical at all. But man continues to harbor them, due to one alleged benefit or another. It makes sense to declare that if every man praised the bridge that carries him over, the bad and good bridges become obscured. It’s also said that money makes the man and you can judge by the numbers of guys on horseback being praised, regardless of how they got the horse.

Many countries have experienced an upsurge in the vices mentioned above. In one country—that I will not mention to protect its image—having a freak car-accident is a blessing to by-standers. They will rummage for your wallet and make away with all the money you had. They might even pull you out of the wreck, alright, but only to frisk your pockets. It will not concern them that you could be bleeding to death or are already dead.

Well, we can argue about this all day and night. But so long as there is the possibility of the heavy hand of a Supreme Being at play here, we can’t win this battle. It’s simply "plant and pay off," people.

Get the full picture of the trouble we could be in, who could be behind it and what he/she or it wants in my book “The End.”. But most impotantly get to know my killer strategy for getting "the end of time we want" sooner rather than later. I call it "The Grand Counter Test."
