Sample Chapter 1

The Beginning

I had this dream about the Supreme Being and his minders having a heated debate during their leisurely discussions. The Supreme Being's minders were challenging their master to create a creature like them, that could live on its own free-will, to see if it could recognize its master; or creator for that matter.

This argument created a lengthy debate. Though the Supreme Being could tell the future, he did not know the duration needed to achieve his desired outcome. He only knew the answer if he created a being that he, somewhat, influenced or controlled; not one that he created with “a free-will.” He thus felt cornered by his minders. The “free-will” factor ruled him out of influencing this creation directly. And so it came to be that man was created and brought down to earth.

Now this is definitely different from any of the doctrines practiced. But it made me ponder if a Supreme Being and his minders were really waiting on us. Perhaps the ball was tossed onto our side of the court and they are eagerly hoping that we pass it back onto their side. It further made me ponder what man could do to pass it back; if this was indeed the case.

The more I thought of it, the more complex it got. It even led me to look at our problems as possible obstacles; intentionally put on our way with the hope that we'll come around and see our follies! Maybe our creator and his minders hear us when we pray but don't want a few million people calling out to them! They want every human being, with the so called “free-will,” to figure it all out and call out to them “en masse!”

We currently have with us various religions, different minds, races, abilities, conflicts, challenges etc. plus the ability to, nowadays, “think outside the box.” And so maybe they want man to simply connect the dots! It's like locking a monkey in a room with only a bell and a light. When the bell rings and the light is switched on, food is delivered. What is expected to happen, is the monkey is supposed to know the drill before expecting food. It's not to anticipate food when only the bell rings, or when only the light comes on. This test is even tried when the monkey is satisfied. The question here is, do you think the monkey will ever know it's being tested?

In my dream, it's the same “monkey test” with man. Man was—and perhaps is really—being waited on. Only this time the test is pretty complex. Whether man will be able to connect the dots or not, is up to man. You all know a test fails if there's an unintended external influence. So the Supreme Being—if I am right—can’t help us directly here. He can't appear in physical form, send his minders or do something that borders on supernatural disclosures.

The Supreme Being's main concern in this dream—or in the real sense of things—is the desired outcome. Some of the unanswered questions in the creator's abode might be, if man will: get used to the process; only pay attention to the sound of the food arriving; or eventually eat his beddings and toys? Or will he, perhaps, knock onto the walls and tell the Supreme Being that he knows what is going on and that he doesn't have to be tested anymore?

If you look at the situation of the world right now, greed, poverty, conflicts and generally other related tribulations seem to be thriving more than ever. And so, maybe, man is supposed to realize, somewhere along the way, that it's these same trends that ail him. It's like being hungry in the desert and cutting your own flesh to have a barbeque. Somewhere along the way, you're supposed to realize your own folly.

We clearly can't solve our own problems. Even after the world has been made a small village; courtesy of a Supreme Being, perhaps! We still can't see beyond our egos, pride, cultural and religious affiliations! So, at what level will the world get desperate and seek the Supreme Being in whatever religion or form that he exists in? That might be the big question in the skies.

Perhaps the creator really wants us to launch a fact-finding mission. He may want us to put everything on the table and then device a test. He knows that we've done countless lab tests on animals and plants and made startling discoveries, but nothing on who's worshiping the right God. It would have been very easy for humanity to seek the right Supreme Being, assuming that one exists, if we had only one person on earth. That person would get so lonely and start talking to things and eventually cry out to the Supreme Being. Wouldn't you do the same, if you suddenly found yourself alone on earth? With six and a half billion people, belonging to diverse religions, sects or belief systems! Now that might take a miracle; one performed by man himself! And our creator must know that too well.

Our creator—assuming that he exists—must know that two hundred thousand bees can agree and work on one common goal using one common law, so he might have made them lower than man to see how smart man really is. I mean, man fools chicken that he has their best interests at heart! The chicken might be fooling something else; which could, in turn, also be fooling its own victims. But who said the process starts with man! Man could also be a victim of something else too. Why not? With the possibility of a set up by the Supreme Being, all that might remain is to see if we will be jolted to respond correctly. Will man actually prove that when left to live on his own free-will, he eventually comes back to his master? These are some of the key questions that I harbor.

Time is definitely not of great essence here. The other probable main concern in heaven, or wherever our maker resides, is will man care less what race, religion or culture he comes from in the end? Doesn't man realize the folly—due to all these belief systems—that someone might be wrong somewhere about the creator? Will we be able to design and carryout tests that seek out the truth, like some of our discoveries? Will we agree to put everything down and test everything till we get to the truth or we still have hang-ups? Doesn't man want to pay homage to whomever or whatever brought him to this world and to, perhaps, request him to solve his gazillion problems? These might be some of the questions that the Supreme Being is asking. That is if one exists of course!

Our maker could be marveling at how we take to sports with so much vigor and passion that one can easily fear it could one day lead to a great war! We like to win, don’t we? Well, our creator could be wondering why we can’t do so against our follies! Man does have the subject matter. He has machines and brains—now all he needs is the will—to connect all the dots and get the right answers. I'll tell you what! The day man came up with the phase, “Thinking outside the box,” there must have been a clap where the Supreme Being resides; if one really does exist of course. But it must have soon died out.

At this point in time, one might think I am gearing towards the apocalypse. So will it happen? That's the big killer question that has Christians, and perhaps others, scratching their heads constantly. But the right question ought to be whether we should continue waiting or are we supposed to do something to trigger it? If the story above is almost true, or if the Supreme Being wanted it dolled out that way, so as not to compromise the test, then we might as well start sitting at the edge of our seats from today onwards. The apocalypse’s timing might be solely up to us. All I can say is that we do have one hell of a challenge, if this indeed is the case!

The logic is that, if it's man who possesses the switch and not the Supreme Being, then let's forget about going out and praying all night, hoping that that will trigger the rapture. We should instead pray for more senses—or for the ones we have to be more sensitive—to help us see our probable role in the much awaited end. Going about it the way we have, might be akin to testing how long you can walk on fire; you're bound to give up at some point. And that probably showcases how smart the Supreme Being is; that is if I am correct with this “lab test theory”—which I must say is a new creation theory” He gives clues but doesn't compromise the experiment. He doles them out in dreams, stories, sermons, catastrophes, wars, diseases etc. But in the end of it all, man is supposed to figure it all out by himself. And that's the catch! How will Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Scientists etc. agree to a test that ought to seek out the real creator or true status, regarding the universe? I mean, someone must be wrong or we are all right; as it seems to be currently. If we're all right, then any house of prayer should be everyone's house of prayer, period! Or all, “origin of man,” theories must be right!

If the test comes out negative, that there's no God, at least man will have gone to court and come out with a conviction. After all justice delayed, might as well be justice denied. Let the Supreme Being get angry, if he really exists. But at least we would have reached out to him and proved that he's the true God. We could spend the rest of our lives joining his minders or assistants in worshiping and consoling him. If he can entertain all the ills taking place now, there's a high chance he will forgive us.

We can't simply continue having the age-old experiment of doing good and expecting good! The good sometimes get unrewarded; and the bad sometimes get rewarded. Sometimes good is rewarded; and sometimes bad is punished. Sometimes both are unrewarded and sometimes both are rewarded. To sum it up, this inconclusive situation and test is a tad too tired, boring and useless. We need a test that would categorize what is universally right and wrong and eventually what then needs to be locked up in a tin, taken to the moon and blown up with a nuclear bomb; which we conveniently already have.

We need to solve the puzzle together and hand over the report to the true Supreme Being, if he exists. That's what might need to be done to enable us enter the eternal paradise that most long for. Otherwise, how do you explain the Supreme Being, as worshiped by one religion, entertaining all the other different religions! Fine, everyone in these religions have their blessings! So who is right and who is wrong; since man cannot stick to something that is not helping him. Or can he? Remember, we also have Atheists, Scientologists etc!

Rememeber the monkey test. When the bell rings and the light is switched on, food is delivered. This is a simple test many monkeys can hack. But what happens when the light is switched on and no bell rings? What about human blinders; as in the human version of horse blinders! Do they exist? Could a Supreme Being or powerful creature, or creatures, beyond us be playing us like David—of the Christian Bible fame—did the harp? And could we be buying it without a hint or clue! Personally I believe this lead, and others working behind the scenes, will continue herding us towards the end. And cutting to the chase means performing "The Grand Counter Test."
