The Grand Test

Living forever in the universe is one of man’s greatest desires. Numerous tests have being done and continue to be done to find out how aging in man can be delayed. On another other front, man’s quest to meet his creator has reached fever pitch; if the all night praying is anything to go by. Different beliefs—like mine—trying to explain our existence, keep on emerging.

But what if we have been chopping and some chips have been falling! What if the answer is now within our grasp? Will you grab it?

We were quick to fall from grace by eating “the forbidden fruit;” if the Old Testament is a true account. What if the way to eternal life has now been cleverly introduced to us, and we have to figure it out on our own? Will we be quicker to rise to grace by digging it out; like we ought to? Or will we wait for our creator to do it. What if our creator is cunningly leading us on! Or must the answer come from a loud trumpet sound emanating from the skies! What if there is no Creator on the other hand! What next!

To have arived at this page, you must really want to know “The Grand Test. The test that aims to solve the stalemate on which belief is right. Is there God, Gods or no God?

Well, the test proposes that every person—with the conscience to understand religious matters—agree to pray to the one alleged Superior Being at the same time and see what happens. We could go about it by, all of us, converting to one religion and worshiping one alleged Superior Being or Beings at the same time. And if there isn't any response, we would move to the next religion; until we achieved the desired response. We could have a single message or ultimatum to the Supreme Being or Beings. On choosing the religion to start with, we could use secret-ballot, alphabetical-order, or something agreeable. Our main desire would be to determine the true Supreme Being and all convert and follow his guidance and rules. If he’s been one and the same all along, then we will understand our folly.

The Supreme Being—if he exists—knows all too well that if we go though the entire testing process and come out with nothing, then that will be proof, according to man, that he doesn't exist. And the ball will be back on his or his court to prove otherwise. But even if nothing happens—if God exists—won’t he be impressed by our desire to do right.

If that is the case, then we need to join hands, connect the dots and vigorously seek the truth; and dump our issues on our creator. To help us do this, we need to accept thinking outside the box. If Christians can now toy with the idea of gay priests in their midst, then my proposal should get a nod without too much acrimony. And even if it fails, we will—at a bare minimum—have earned some credit.

Somewhere in my book “The End,” I raise the suggestion that the whole of humanity unite to counter and solve the problems that afflict humanity. But you will notice that one impediment to that suggestion is religion. So I bet the test mentioned above is one tall order. The first point is that we are too divided to agree on such an arduous task. Secondly, even if I am wrong, the Supreme Being—that is if he's out there—is likely to appreciate our effort and make it work, thereby leading us to the very scary fact that the Supreme Being actually exists and that we are meeting soon. I say this because we are just believers. Hence the idea is pretty scary; and delightful at the same time. Life on earth, as it is, could actually end; and perhaps mark the start of eternal bliss.

Come to think of it! Does everyone participating go to paradise, in this case? If it's a resounding yes, then that might just be one of the Supreme Being's plans that has just been cracked open. He wants us to do it for everyone, period! If the ball is really currently on our court, then this very act could pass it back to the Superior Being in this grand-slam.

Now that “The Grand Test” is out, I believe the world will never be the same again, if my idea is implemented. No more religious bashing. No more religious wars. No more toiling for a living. Don’t you think it’s worth a try? Or do you want to continuing toiling for a living?

On a different front, if the whole world can unite for one cause, that mere act will be a major milestone for mankind. It doesn’t matter if my test works or not. It means urgent matters like climate change can be easily dealt with henceforth. For example, if everyone on earth plants a new tree next year and ensures it lives on along as long he or she is alive, then the environment will be greatly improved at a very cheap cost.

And with this kind of union, don’t do you think we will have brought life as it, on earth to an end and commenced a new kind of conscience living? Tell me if I am dreaming or if this isn’t a breakthrough for that’s the main idea! Life was meant to be simple. Let’s end the “monkey test if indeed we are being tested!”
